I have used the YouVersion Bible app for several years. If you are a new believer, I highly recommend it.
But I've never had an app that I could count on to take me deep into serious study of God's Word. Until now!
I recently tried Olive Tree. It's become my go-to app for Bible study. Here's why:
Olive Tree begins by offering several free translations, reading plans, and study tools.
I really appreciated that I could get started with helpful resources in my resource library without having to pay. The biggest barrier I've encountered with other apps I've tried is having to spend a lot of money to get anything out of the app.
While some resources have a price tag in Olive Tree, they frequently have sales and discounts.
All of these are available offline after you download them. Having so many great resources for free (or very affordable) is why I love to use it for my personal Bible study.
The app intuitively knows the Bible verse or passage I'm reading and what resources in my library address that passage. As I read, the resources the app recommends changes to match where I am in my studies.
No more spending hours flipping through several commentaries to find the help you need to understand your Bible! The app puts this right at your fingertips.
Commentaries aren't the only thing you will find in Olive Tree. There's so much more to help you go further in your studies.
Probably my favorite resource is the Bible Project videos.
As I read through the Word, my Olive Tree resource library will recommend videos by The Bible Project related to the passage I'm reading. These give me a helpful overview of that passage or topic, illustrating things clearly.
I've learned so much just from this one resource!
To be a "doer of the word," we must be hearers first (James 1:22). Olive Tree also has excellent audio Bibles I can listen to when I can't sit and read.
I've listened to the Bible driving to work, cleaning dishes, and tending to my garden. I love engaging in God's Word no matter what my day brings.
The app by Olive Tree does more than just connect you with helpful resources, it also offers guided tours through a study pack.
This will not only helped me learn the ins and outs of the app but also helped me learn how to study the Bible intentionally.
The best Scripture apps sync across all devices. The Bible app by Olive Tree is no exception!
Any notes I take on one device are waiting for me on another. I can find the notes I took on my phone at the coffee shop as I open my laptop to study further.
The same goes for devotionals. As I make progress with my daily readings, I can open that devotional on another device and pick up where I left off.
Church Connect is easy to setup and keeps your members connected with the church every day
Other programs, like Blue Letter Bible, focus solely on this one aspect of Bible study. But Olive Tree incorporates it into your Bible reading and study. This alone makes Olive Tree one of the best Bible reading apps available.
Those other resources are great (I use Blue Letter Bible often), but I love that Olive Tree has Greek and Hebrew resources built into the program so that I don't have to switch between one resource and another as I study. I can crack open the original meaning of the text in the same place I'm doing everything else!
I have used YouVersion for years and don't plan to stop. However, I love using Olive Tree for personal study. This app has helped me grow and learn about God's Word in ways other apps never have.
Download this app for free today and you will quickly see what I did, that this is the best Bible app for studying and growing your faith.
