Changing Family Assignments


Some church members will experience a name change during their time at your church. Marriage, divorce, adoption, and remarriage are all common reasons your church directory may need an update.

  • Step 1. Edit Their Profile
  • Step 2. Change Family Assignemnt
  • Step 3. Select or Create a New Family
  • Step 4. Check the Family Section
  • Step 5. Deleting Family Names

Step 1. Edit Their Profile

To change a Family Assignment, select the "Edit" button for the individual you wish to change.

Step 2. Change Family Assignemnt

Once you're in the edit mode, select "Change Family Assignment".

Step 3. Select or Create a New Family

You can then proceed in either adding the person to a different family or creating a new family for the individual.

Step 4. Check the Family Section

After the person's family name assignment has been updated, scroll down to the Family section of their profile and review the Family Name, Formal Greeting and Informal Greeting fields and make any necessary changes.

Step 5. Deleting Family Names

If you have duplicated family names, select the "Assigned to Family" button in the family section of a member's profile.

Delete Duplicate Families

Then select the ( ) to delete the duplicate. Only families without any names assigned to it can be deleted.
